We miss Greg and Jess so much but stay up-dated with Jessica's cute blog. It sure seems like they have a sweet life in Utah, but that doesn't help the longing for their presence here with us. Today, B.Y.U. game day, they were brave enough to venture past "the point of the mountain" going north in true blue cougar attire. Man they must be crazy!

Dane is growing up so nicely. Kevin and Brandi are raising fantastic kids.
He's smart, studious, polite, kind and tenderhearted.
Oh and least we forget, a terrific football player!

Another Soccer Saturday

We are so fortunate that two of our soccer players are on the same team. Ella and Payton are on the same team this year, and they are so cute to watch.

Payton has been watching soccer and going to soccer practices for as long as she has been walking, therefore she has somewhat the advantage, and she's 5. She knows what to do with the ball and when to do it. Ella on the other hand, who's only 4, just has to go on the natural born athletic characteristics that she got from her parents. Soccer for her this year is a whole new game, not much like the football practices she's spent her life watching. They are both so cute and even work together now and then. Ella is probably the smallest on the team, but in her mind she's as big as everyone else on the field.

Here are my Calif. babies. I love it when they fight over sitting on my lap. Wade and Abby are only 10 days apart in age, and I think friends from before this earth life. They are always so happy to see each other. (Check out the new hair cut)

Weston and this week's addition, his cast. Not much gets this boy down. He's as tough as they come. He broke his arm, both bones, at lunch recess, and wasn't given anything for pain until after 9 p.m. Everyone from the school nurse, to the ER techs and aids were truly amazed. He was a little teary when I picked him up at school and was sweating from being is shock, but no hysterics or even crying.
He faced surgery the following morning very bravely while requesting a
Priesthood blessing from his dad and his grandpa.

Cute Kylie is a terrific soccer player. She always says that she doesn't want to play each year but she is really good and enjoys it during the season.
The games usually over lap and are always at different fields.

In a way, Weston did us all a favor by not being able to play for the rest of the season, because of his cast.

Wade's Robot Leg

The other night when Wade and Wes were jumping on their trampoline in the back yard, Wade got hurt. It was unclear how it happened, everyone had their version of the story, but when the crying was over he wouldn't walk, he would only crawl around. He really didn't cry that much but did wake up after going to sleep and it was obvious that he was uncomfortable. Instead of taking him to the ER, they gave him some Ibuprofen and he went back to sleep. In the morning though, he still wouldn't walk, so they took him in for an x-ray. It was very hard to diagnose so they went to a orthopedist and togehter he and Steve decided to err on the side of caution and put him in a removable cast for a few weeks to stabalize it. So now they have him in a walking shoe. It's really tiny as you would expect since he's only 2 but who knew they made them so small. Even his podiatrist dad, had never seen one so small.

I get to spend some more one on one time with him today so I took some pictures. When I first heard it is removable I thought, "Oh great who's going to have to fight with him to keep that thing on, he won't even keep shoes on?" He is so cute with his new "Robot Leg" That's what they told him and for now it's working and he's cooperating and keeping it on.

I went to work with Gene today

This is one of the projects that Gene is currently working on. He has been working on this one for at least 18 months if not longer. Right now it requires that he drive to Malibu at least once each week. It's a long drive but great scenery once you get to the Santa Monica Pier. Then it's PCH the rest of the way. That's a fun part of our area that we don't get to otherwise.

It has been a really challenging job because it is on the Malibu pier which is a historical landmark owned by the state of California. These buildings have been remodeled and into beautiful establishments while maintaining their historical components.

The whole project consists of 4 seperate buildings.

The first two were worked on at the same time.

One is a nice restaurant and the other is a bar.

This is just one of the pictures that I took looking back on the shore from the pier.

He really does build Ruby's amoung many other talents!

This isn't the traditional Ruby's that is at the end of several piers, it's a smaller version with a limited menu. They serve breakfast and is called the Shake Shack.

This restaurant is called the Beachcomber Cafe it has a very nice menu and Malibu prices to remind you were you are. This is building #2.

These are buildings #3 & #4

This is the view walking from the front to the end of the pier. Ruby's Shake Shack is on the right side. That was building number 3. That job was finished about 4 months ago, and when they had their grand opening even the Govenator came!

Every now and then you will see this pier in commercials, t.v. programs and movies, look at it here and then watch for it on T.V.

This is the bridge that connects the two buildings.

I am standing under that bridge/walkway looking back to the shore. Since we are looking back the other way, in this picture building #4 is on the right side. This is the job that is under construction right now.

This is going to be a surf museum on the upper level with a retail shop in the lower level.

they are just re-working the interior.

They have had to comply with different codes and rules

because of the historical issues.

This makes my story authentic, this is what my man does for work!

I tried to get a picture of him but he was in a meeting taking way to long, so I went and sat in the car to read my book.

How we celebrated the end of summer . . . Labor Day

Kevin and Brandi decided to just have a stay-cation this year, they usually go to Utah for this weekend. But instead they had a pool party barbecue for friends and family. This is where Kevin and Brandi and their kids live, at the Romberg Estate. Not a bad set up, wish we had this sweet of a spot to call our home.

I decided that since I was stealing pictures from the Romberg's blog I'd go ahead and steal some more from Greg and Jessica's. This is what's happening in Utah with their cute little boys.
Soccer has begun and Dylan is participating this year. He's learning the basics with his daddy and trying to decide how much he really likes it.

Adam is only about 20 months old but he is going to love soccor! He love's anything having to do with balls, throwing them, kicking them and tryiing to hold all of them at once!

Good-bye Summer 2009

Where has summer gone? Well when you walk outside, or as I think about it, if I linger in my bed past 8 a.m. I wouldn't say it's gone at all. It's still in the serious 80 degree range here but the kiddies are back in school. Nothing says fall to me more than school starting. We have had a beautiful summer, I love where I live and those whom I spend my days with. I didn't go to the beach many times and as I look at this beautiful scene I say, "why?" There's not much better way to spend a hot summer day than at the beach.

I did meet Brandi and her darling kids one day and it was so fun.

I stole both of these pictures from Brandi and Kevin's blog and the caption they had was, "More trees please" so cute. Being a grandma is sweet!

Everything is new when you have a baby!

This time when we went to Dianeyland it was a brand new experience for Wade. Last year he was only one year old and still quite confined to his stroller, not able to go on many rides. But on this day every thing was new to him. He was so cute. I love that baby!

We Love Disneyland

I'm just playing around to see what else I can do with Picasa. I'm still not very good at getting the posts to go in as I plan, but blogging is fun. It's crazy how strangers can view your blog, it's kinda creepy. I see why some people decide to to private!

We hadn't realized until we got to Disneyland on this day that Wade was having a NEW experience. Last year he was only just over 1 year old and very confined to his stroller. Mostly he had to stay off the rides because he was so small. On this day, he was enthralled and excited, everything was new and made just for him. It was so cute.

Our Happy Place

Our summer has been so crazy, imagine being too busy to go to Disneyland. Well, the out of state crowds have a lot to do with it too. Jenny and I finally just went, even though she wasn't feeling very well. It was a fun day, not crowded and not awfully hot. I love being a yearly pass holder, but I really need to go more often.

Paytie and I got to ride in the rocket ship together and Kylie and Wes got to go it alone for is first time. Wes told the guy that he could be trusted to be on his best behavior, and he was! Wade went with his mommy and it was probably his first time.

Because it wasn't very crowded, we even finally got in to see Tinkerbell and her friends. This fairy is Irridessa.

Finally time for Disneyland

When we first got there we decided to get a few autographs. This is always a touchy activity, because you can stand in line for your turn and if the people in front of you take to long the characters might just up and walk away. (they are on a tight schedule and time frame) It's very hard to explain to the little ones.
